DALLAS, TEXAS – May 6, 2016 – The seventh annual State Fair of Texas (SFT) Shooting for the Stars Sporting Clay Shoot was the most successful tournament yet. A record-breaking $73,000 was raised at the April event with all proceeds going directly to the SFT Youth Livestock Auction and Scholarship Program.

“We are extremely pleased with the outcome of this year’s event,” says Daryl Real, senior vice president of Livestock and Agriculture for the State Fair of Texas. “We surpassed our goals again this year and are very excited about the continued growth of the sporting clay tournament.”

One hundred percent of the money given at this event goes to support the Youth Livestock Auction and Scholarship Program. This program supports students from across the Lone Star State who have competed in State Fair youth livestock events, as well as students from five DISD high schools in the Fair Park area.
