Bobcat Contracting is excited to announce a scholarship opportunity for Hill County students who would like to show steers at the annual Hill County Fair. These scholarships are open to first time exhibitors or those who have only one year of experience showing steers. Bobcat continues to be a strong supporter of the fair & recognizes the value of raising kids through the opportunity of raising cattle.

Bobcat Contracting will award eight to ten steer scholarships to Hill County students in Texas.

Scholarships are available to students who will be in grades 3-12 during the 2019-2020 school year. After review of all applications, the scholarship recipients will be awarded $2,000 each to help with the purchase of a steer to be shown at the Hill County Fair. An additional $500 will be awarded after the calf is brought to the Hill County Steer Validation & the required exhibitor paperwork is completed. It is our goal to help families raise kids by providing opportunities to raise steer projects for the Hill County Fair. Born & Bred in Hill County prizes have also been raised to $1,500 for grand and $750 for reserve grand to encourage buying locally. This is not required, however.

Students should return a completed application form along with a short essay to the address below on or before March 1, 2019. Scholarship recipients will be notified by the end of March & initial awards of $2,000 will be distributed upon notification. After the steer has been validated at the Hill County Validation, the scholarship recipients will receive the remaining $500. Good luck to everyone and see you at the fair!
